Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit to Madison Parish Criminal History, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which others may receive it. Use of the website signals acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email or contact message long enough to respond and manage the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a visitor loads a page:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and our analytics services help us understand traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. A browser can reject cookies, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a submitted query to the appropriate search partner
  • Maintain site availability, speed, and core functions
  • Diagnose errors and resolve technical problems
  • Measure which material visitors use and where improvements are needed
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Madison Parish Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to approach the Madison Parish Sheriff, the criminal courts, Louisiana State Police BCII-LCJIS, and the Louisiana State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry. Louisiana criminal-history dissemination is governed by R.S. 15:575-588, and the state does not offer unrestricted public access to complete LACCH rap sheets. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing practices govern information submitted through those tools. We cannot control those practices, so review the provider's policy before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to a sheriff, court, Louisiana agency, legal aid resource, or outside search service. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard safeguards for information in our care. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such data comes to our attention, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. The Louisiana Public Records Law, R.S. 44:1 et seq., governs access to records held by Louisiana public custodians, not data held by this private site. Subject to the law that applies, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date, and continued use will be governed by the posted version.

Effective date: July 26, 2026
